Justin and Robert moved to Nashville within a couple of years of each other. Living in the same city for the first time since college the two decided there was no time like the present to start that company they talked about back at SUNY Geneseo. New York style bagels seemed to be a no brainer for the upstate New York guys. They both agreed that Nashville was lacking in good bagel spots. Nashville’s food truck scene was on the rise and that seemed like a great way to start. The first Bare Naked Bagel “truck” (it was actually a concessions trailer) hit the streets in April of 2014. Only a year and a half later Robert and Justin realized that the little trailer was just too small for their growing bagel empire and in June of 2016 the 26 foot Bare Naked Bagel truck started roaming the city selling bagels to native Nashvillians and transplants alike. With the popularity of their bagels on the rise Robert and Justin plunged head first into wholesale bagels. Now serving 10+ locations around town you are never too far away from a coffee shop or deli spot that sells Bare Naked Bagel. In 2017 Robert and Justin’s bagel empire was ready for even more growth and to help them with that they brought on Justin’s brother Ryan. The three are excited for the next chapter in the BNB story, a Brick + Mortar Bagel Shop!

Justin was born and raised in Ithaca, New York. He attended Geneseo State
University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a
Marketing and Management Concentration. And also met friend and business
partner Robert. After college, he moved to Middle Tennessee where he entered the
corporate world and eventually joined Alliance Oncology as Director of Business
Development. He is experienced is creating strategic partnerships and structuring
joint venture relationships to execute on growth plans. When he is not at the office,
Justin is making time for his wife, Heather, son, Cason, and new baby daughter,
Cohen. Justin’s favorite bagel is The Lox – smoked salmon, chive cream cheese,
tomato and pickled red onion!
Robert was born and raised in Binghamton, New York. He started at the local
pizzeria as a prep cook in high school and continued working in restaurants
throughout college. Robert also attended Geneseo State University where he earned
a bachelor’s in Psychology and met Justin. After the college, the allure of the
restaurant industry was too strong and Robert returned to his home to Binghamton
where he eventually became chef of local catering company, The Red and White. He
relocated to Nashville in 2013 after visiting Justin a few times. Together the two
founded Bare Naked Bagel as a food truck in 2014. Robert is now an active member
of the Nashville Food Truck Association. When not working on building a bagel
empire he can be found playing with his dog, Odin or exploring Nashville. Robert’s favorite bagel is The California -turkey, bacon, avocado, tomato, lettuce and chipotle mayo.
Ryan was also born and raised in upstate New York. Like many, he worked in
restaurants while in high school. Because of that experience, he attended Cornell
University’s School of Hotel Management where he concentrated in Food &
Beverage Management. Following graduation, he moved to New York City where he
worked for multiple respected restaurants including locations owned by Marcus
Samuelson and Daniel Boulud. Ryan gained experience opening restaurants for the
Dinex Group as the Assistant Director of Operations. Ryan and his family now live in
Atlanta, GA where he works as an independent restaurant consultant. Ryan joined
the Bare Naked Bagel team in 2017 and is excited to be a part to this growing brand.
Outside of the restaurant world Ryan likes to spend time with his wife, Brooke and
their two boys Alec and Evan. Ryan’s favorite bagel is a Sesame bagel toasted with
chive cream cheese.
